If you feel like you’ve already tried everything to stay fit and healthy, then you’ve come to the right place!
Oftentimes people end up frustrated because they have no idea just what is making them feel so unhealthy. Hence, in this article, we will list out some of the common causes so you can identify which ones are affecting you every day.
It’s quite important to know the reason why we are not getting healthy. This is because without knowing the reason why we will not be able to safely and accurately treat these problems that plague us.
Focusing only on physical health
Many people tend to equate physical health with overall health, but this is simply not true. Yes, physical health helps a lot with the state of our health, but it isn’t everything. Simply engaging in and enduring strenuous physical activities without paying any attention to our physical and mental health is not productive to our overall well-being.
We need to put some focus on our mental and emotional health as well. These aspects also play a huge role in our health. In this way, we can achieve holistic wellness much better and faster.
Not eating the right amount of carbs
You may have been told that carbs are the devil or are your worst nightmare when it comes to weight loss. Well, this is true to a certain extent, but eating too little carbohydrates can also backfire on us. Therefore, eating the right amount of carbohydrates by having self-discipline is the key if we want to have steady and healthy weight loss.
Exercising too much
Too much of anything is always bad. Exercising too much can make you more likely to be prone to injuries while exercising and stresses out your body even more. Many people use exercise as a way to lose weight. This overly stresses the body, depletes hormones, and will backfire 100% of the time.
Using too many phones
This doesn’t only apply to phones, but having high exposure to blue light can lead to eyesight problems among all ages. Not only that, but some studies have also shown that blue light can also disrupt our hormones making us more unable to fall asleep at night.
Not getting enough sleep
Speaking of sleep, not resting well is a common cause for people to be unhealthy as well. So if you want to feel rested, healthy, and happier, then you better start getting some good night’s sleep!
Allow your body to rest and give it the kind of relaxation it deserves after a long hard day. After all, it’s during sleep when our body recharges and our brains clear out the toxic wastes it has accumulated over the day.
Snacking too much
Eating snacks to reward yourself isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It does become a problem though if you do it compulsively. It’s also even more of a problem if you eat snacks that are totally unhealthy and lack any nutritional value!
Remember to take a break from food especially unhealthy snacks.
Sitting too much
Studies have shown that sitting for prolonged periods of time can be detrimental to our health. It is not only bad for our posture, but also for our blood pressure and metabolism as well. So remember to stand up and take a walk from time to time. This will keep your blood flowing and keep you from being too sedentary.
Focusing too much on negativity
What has negativity ever done for us? Nothing, right? Yet we all know just how easy it is to fall into the trap of looking into negativity and how hard it is to not focus on it. This is why we must be proactive and tell ourselves what must change.
We can’t let negativity define our perspective on life anymore and we can’t let it guide how we live anymore.
Don’t walk enough. Walking is hands-down one of the best things you can do for your health. It stimulates the parasympathetic, rest/digest/repair nervous system. We all need more of this recover based activity.
Not consuming enough protein. Protein is the building block.
Not drinking enough water! Aim for 2 litres and spread it out and drink a big glass every two hours throughout the day.
Strength training. Regular strength training is one of the most effective ways to improve metabolic health.
Not eating a variety of foods. The more diverse your diet, the healthier you are. Period!
To conclude, these are the most common things people tend to do that leave them stuck in an endless loop of being unhealthy. Does anything sound familiar? If it does, then consider these tips in this article and in my other articles as well!
