Do you think too much about how to lose weight and actually keep it off?
Unfortunately, if you’re a worrier or you get easily overwhelmed by the details in absolutely everything you do, you might find it even harder to lose weight than some of the less perfectionists amongst us.
Worry and perfectionism nearly always go hand in hand. In fact, a tendency to dwell on the things you want to avoid is one of the very reasons you actually keep on attracting them.
Simply put …our brains don’t understand how ‘not’ to think, so ultimately we get MORE of what we are focussing on.
Overthinking and procrastination
By overthinking everything, we search high and low for answers. We second guess, we doubt our abilities, we blame ourselves for everything, and we minutely analyze every tiny aspect of our lives. Thanks to all this overthinking, we can never seem to fully commit to anything, simply jumping on and off the merry-go-round of inconsistency. If this is you, you’re probably tired of being disappointed by your lack of results.
Losing weight isn’t rocket science so there really is no need to overthink it.
It’s quite simple
Here are the basic rules:
It really is this simple.
There are so many drug companies supplying weight loss powders and supplements because we are all – at some stage – searching for the miracle “fat cure”. Each claims to have found the best way to lose weight, and that their particular pill or shake is the answer. Because they know that we’ve all been searching for a magic formula, they sell it to us… and we almost beg them to take our money!
If you’re sick of all the diets and slimming pills out there, it’s time to get back down to basics:
The key to sustainable weight control is to change the way you live, not just for the time it takes to lose weight, but forever.
For the rest of your life, you need to give your body the daily movement that it so desperately needs and wants. That means putting the mobile phone down, turning off the lights, and getting more sleep every night.
No one said it would be easy, but it is simple!
There’s NO point in losing weight and then just going back to living the same lifestyle that got you overweight in the first place. However, once you reach your target weight, you don’t have to keep on the same diet that you followed to lose weight. You DO, however, have to continue a healthy lifestyle and that includes healthy eating.
The weight loss journey
We’re all human. You may have bouts of weight gain and then have to get back on track. But one of the greatest gifts you’ll have got from actually losing weight the “right” way is a new set of healthy habits to last a lifetime. You will always fall back on them as healthy, productive ways to deal with obstacles. The more you do so, the more experience you will have to make the right choices when temptations come your way.
There’s no more need to analyze the ins and outs – just stick to simple, healthy choices, every single day.
The weight loss journey has its benefits. During this time, we discover how amazing we are as we uncover the power we had all along. Life becomes more vibrant and we finally have the energy to do the things that we’ve only ever dreamt of.
Choose NOT to overthink
As with all of our behaviors, overthinking is a choice (and believe me, I get it, because I used to do it too) so as long as it continues very little will change for you. But you can actually change your current situation forever…if you follow the four simple rules: eat, move, sleep, repeat…forever.
If you’re done with the constant stress and worrying whether what you’re doing is ‘right’ or not, and you’re tired of the mental and emotional toll that your food struggles are taking everyday… and how that, in turn, is stealing from every area of your life… from the body, business to relationships, then reach out today I can help eliminate these struggles once and for all Contact me and let’s see if I can help you.
