Built to help women have a 360° approach to health through perimenopause to post-menopause.
So you’re 40+! You’re now more mature in life and have probably achieved a lot of your goals. However, with maturity comes sometimes a price, you’ve started to get fat around your tummy even though you didn’t change much in your diet, your arm starts sagging, your sides start getting fluffier, you do the same workouts and cardio yet you’re putting on weight AND everything just makes you tired a lot more frequently!
Let’s dig in and win!!!
STRESS
With a change in hormone levels our tolerance to stress unfortunately decreases. This is why stress management is so important. Your emotional state really comes to play. Your approach to stress is how you think, and how you manage your mentality around stress. Now whilst yoga, journaling or meditation may help you, managing your ‘emotional state’ is key here. ( work with me is the obvious solution) !
Stress can take a toll not only on your physical appearance but on your overall well-being too!
GET ENOUGH SLEEP
It’s called beauty sleep for a reason. Getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep is essential if you want to keep that youthful glow with you. Sleeping allows our bodies to rest and recover. This of course will help you manage your stress and your body composition goals. Without this in place, all bets are off ladies.
EAT WELL
Simply reducing calories is not enough going low calories no longer works. We need a balanced set diet every day rich in the proteins and minerals that we need. With the emphasis on veggies + protein and less emphasis on carbohydrates then add fat when needed. We can no longer afford to deprive ourselves of essential nutrients that our body needs.
AVOID ALCOHOL
Now, this applies to people of any age, but it is especially important for us who are in our 40’s plus! Aim for 2 glasses per week. Yep, you heard me right, not 2 glasses per day! Unfortunately, alcohol will absolutely desiccate your body composition goals. And our liver can only take so much beating!
WALKING
Aim for 10-12k a day! Walking helps manage our stress and it also keeps your calorie expenditure up without making you hungry. Walking is also better for reducing tummy fat than long cardio sessions too! It’s a great fat loss tool.
Now, being in midlife doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world! Instead, it is actually a new beginning to a new stage of life we can all enjoy. So there is no need to throw in the towel and think, ¨….I’m past it¨….
That’s nonsense! The party’s just getting started, midlife ladies!
ACTUALLY….
ALL ladies regardless of your age should implement the above too!
And let’s have a chat and see if I can help you.
