Built to help women have a 360° approach to health through perimenopause to post-menopause.
You know what time it is. It’s finally summer and everyone is gearing up to hit the beach and have fun!
We’re sure that you, along with many others out there might be asking what you can do to get that beach body for the season. Questions such as how can I get slimmer? How can I get toned abs? Will I look good in a bikini?
You are not alone in asking these questions. In fact, a lot of people around you may even have the same questions!
However, “Having a fit body”, or “Being beach-ready” isn’t a one-stop goal you can achieve overnight or in a short period of time. It’s a process that you must trust. A process that you must undergo consistently and committedly. A half-hearted approach will not get you the results you want as many people tend to be motivated only at the beginning and lose sight of their goals not too long after they set it.
In this process, having a healthy lifestyle to achieve a healthy body is built around good habits. Habits such as a good sleeping pattern, a good diet, a less stressful environment, less consumption of junk food, getting more exercise, etc. are some of the key things you can do to achieve a healthy lifestyle that can help you achieve your body.
These may already sound all too familiar to you as you may have heard of it before, but it’s a simple truth – a healthy body comes from a healthy lifestyle. No matter how naturally “Gifted” someone is with good metabolism and being naturally lean with no effort, the results of their lifestyles catch up to them eventually.
Another thing you must be mindful of is your mindset. When you think of reasons why you want to lose weight, or want to have a healthy-looking physique, being healthy itself often isn’t the first thing that crosses our minds. What we do think of as reasons are things such as “I want to look good”, “ I want to get more likes on social media”, or “I don’t want to be judged by others”. These aren’t necessarily wrong reasons, because it’s natural to want to be liked by everybody else, especially ourselves, however, it also has its downsides.
These will make you obsessed with looking at the scales and what we put into our mouths and body. It makes us hesitate at every bite while calculating every single calorie that we will get from our food.
Not only that, but some people take measures such as eating low-fat diets, limiting caloric intake, use artificial sweeteners in their food this will only make you sick and burn yourself out more quickly. If you are spending hours in the gym trying to shrink your body, you are making yourself sick. If you tend to binge-restrict, you are making yourself sick, If you are constantly looking in the mirror and picking yourself apart, you are making yourself sick!
These and many other tedious habits build up over time and end up consuming a person’s worries and the majority of their attention, time, and brain power instead of the things that actually matter in terms of getting more fit.
Therefore if you want to be lean, skinnier, or just have a rocking beach body for summer, you need to have a healthy body first. In turn, to have a healthy body, you must incorporate healthy habits into your lifestyle as early as you can. When you decide to incorporate these habits into your life, everything else falls into the right place.
Habits such as having a balanced diet, exercising more, prioritising good sleep, eating a whole food and an anti-inflammatory diet, prioritizing mental/emotional health, and learning how to communicate with your body respectfully and kindly. ❤️
These habits, when built over time, become a core part of your life itself, and losing weight will not have to take too much effort and obsession. This is because these healthy habits will help your body increase its metabolism and give you more energy every day along with many other physical and mental health benefits. Overall, if you have a healthy lifestyle, a healthy and fit body will follow along and you will be more than able to maintain all year round not just for summer!
